Chao Luang Kham Daeng is an important guardian spirit in Lanna belief, held to be lord of the mountains and the forest. This roadside shrine is where locals and passing drivers stop to light incense and ask for a safe road before climbing towards the border.
It is a short stop that shows how inseparable faith and forest are in this place.
